How does the DTV visa work in terms of multiple entries and duration?

Hi everyone!

I might have a rather stupid question but this visa is still new and confusing so please forgive my ignorance. 

DTV visa is a multiple entry visa and is given for 5 years. Every time you enter you get 180 days.

Does it mean 2x180 entries a year x 5 years or like I am allowed to travel and have, say, 3-4 entries a year without it affecting the overall 5 years timeline?

In theory you could get six years out of this visa with an entry just before it expires and then an extension in country.

I’ve had my DTV since November and I’ve entered 6 times each time with a 180 day stamp each time

Everytime you enter Thailand you get 180 days.

It's unlimited for 5 years
