Hello! Iโm traveling to Finland next month and while Iโm there I have to get a new passport.
Obviously my visa stays in the old passport. I guess I come back to Thailand with my old and new passport but how does the process of transferring the visa from the old passport to a new one work?
Anything particular I should know about that?
Many thanks in advance! ๐๐ป๐

TLDR : Answer Summary
When traveling to Finland and returning to Thailand with a new passport, you need to present both your old and new passports upon re-entry. The immigration officer will then stamp the new passport. If you have an extension of stay, visit the immigration office with both passports to have the stamps transferred. Additionally, ensure you obtain a re-entry permit before leaving Thailand to avoid invalidating your extension.
you show BOTH passports when you stamp back into thailand and they'll stamp you in on the new one
then IF you have an "extension of stay" <- that you got from the immigration office you go to that office with both passports and they move the stamps to the new passport
Thanks so much! So I donโt need any other documents from anywhere? All they need at the immigration is my old and new passport? My visa is valid until December and I have multiple re-entry as well.
