Does anyone have experience of/advice for transferring DTV to a new passport? My passport is full and getting a new one. I have heard conflicting reports of being able to travel on new but show old pp on entry and I have also heard it is necessary to transfer to new passport. Any help much appreciated.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When transferring your DTV to a new passport, it's recommended to officially transfer the visa at Immigration for a smoother experience. While some travelers carry both the new and old passports, the official transfer is advised to prevent confusion during travel and at immigration.
Best practice is to transfer the DTV to your new passport at Immigration once you get it.
In theory, you can travel carrying both passports and show the old one with the visa, but in reality it often causes confusion with airlines and immigration officers. Transferring it officially avoids problems on entry, extensions, or re-entry later.
Most people who’ve done it say the transfer is straightforward—just time and paperwork.
