Dear all,

With only three blank pages left in my british passport but my visa valid until next year I am wondering if i apply for a new passport will the visa in the passport to be cancelled still be valid? Would i be able to enter the country on the visa in the cancelled pp? Would it then be possible to transfer visa to new pasaport at immigration office?

Thanking you in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the implications of applying for a new passport while holding a valid visa in their current (nearly full) passport. They seek clarification on whether their existing visa remains valid after the new passport is issued, if they can enter Thailand using both passports, and the process for transferring their visa or extension of stay to the new passport.

as was pointed out you're NOT on any visa :/

AND

if you want an extension you take your old passport and your new passport to the immigration office (with the letter you got when you renewed your passport) and they will transfer the entry stamp to your new passport and give you an extension in the new passport.

To transfer stamps from one passport to another you need copies of these things;

Okay, you have a Visa Exempt Entry, you can take both passports to a border and leave the country.

I very much doubt it... I could be wrong but I feel you would waste ur time doing that. It’s probably not their jurisdiction being border immigration and not a main office

There is no 30 day visa in Thailand.

I just picked up my new passport today... I'm on a 30 day visa I got from Cambodia. Can I not just go to the border with my old and new passport?
Robert *******
No, you have to visit with the letter from your Embassy the Immigration Office in your area.
Thomas *********
I’m sure you would have to do it at your local immigration office, depot on your region
Thomas *********
I very much doubt that

If you have an Extension of Stay, you can transfer this stamp at Immigration to your new passport.

If you have a Visa in the old passport, you just use both passport to enter and leave the country.
