Hi, can someone clarify please. I have my 12 month retirement visa now which is valid from 22/09/24 to 22/09/25. I didn’t get a 90 day reporting slip but I have a slip in my visa for notification of residency which is on 10/11/24 (a Sunday!)

Is this different to the 90 day reporting? Does anyone know if I just go to the main immigration office in hua hin in blue port top floor or the smaller one in the basement and what documents do I need to take. TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on their 90-day reporting obligations related to their retirement visa and if they can report early as they need to leave Thailand before the due date. Responses confirm that the reporting date indicated is indeed for the 90-day notification of residence, which can be reported between 15 days before and 7 days after the due date. If the user leaves Thailand before this reporting date, they will not need to report until they return, but a re-entry permit is necessary for their exit.

No need to report. You are leaving before 90 days. The 90 day reporting re-sets to 0 from the day you re-enter Thailand. Be sure you have a re entry permit before leaving.

Thank you for your replies.

I have another question.

I just found out my mum passed away yesterday and have to fly back to the uk next week which will be 6 days before my reporting date.

Will it be possible to notify early?

you won't need to report if you're not here for the full 90 days. If you're on an active Non-OA visa you can just exit and return. However if you're Non-OA has expired or (more likely) you're actually on an extension of stay based on a Non-O visa make sure you have a re-entry permit before you exit

if you depart Thailand before the 90 day report is due you don't have to do anything. When you return, a new 90 day period starts from that date.

Thank you, that makes sense

There is no such thing as a 12 month retirement visa.

Ok should have qualified, in country there is no such thing as a 12 month retirement visa. A 12 month OA visa is available from your home country Thai Embassy.

visa is what gets you in the country. Thus commonly misnamed retirement visa is actually an extension of stay based on retirement. Then we buy an exit entry visa on top. So that’s why some snarky nit picking people who are clearly bored with nothing to do love to jump on posts that mention annual retirement visa and say there’s no such thing…

There is. Its a non OA visa.

That is your 90 days notification date. 90 days is called a notification of residence. You get 15 days before and 7 days after to report. After those 7 days you are fined 2k.

As for what documents you need like everything, it widely varies office to office, so you should check with your local office.

That should be your 90 day report date. The date being on Sunday is irrelevant. It's not 90 business days, it's 90 days in Thailand. The window to report is 15 days before the due date and 7 days after the due date.
