Do I need to reapply for my Thailand Pass if my flight is delayed?

Hey, so I have been contacted by my airline that there was an issue with one of my flights. They had to rebook and move some things around and I’ll be arriving ~an hour later to BKK (which is also the following day because it becomes after midnight).

Wanting to confirm:

Do I need to reapply for my Thailand Pass now? I have already informed the TestAndGo hotel of this change and waiting to hear back.

Just wanting to double check exactly what I need to do given this change in order to avoid any problems.

Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the need to reapply for the Thailand Pass due to a flight delay that causes arrival in Bangkok an hour later, after midnight. Community responses indicate that there's a 72-hour window for changes related to airline rescheduling, meaning reapplication is unnecessary if it's only a short delay. Additionally, concerns about changing to an education visa from a tourist exemption arise, but it is clarified that the Thailand Pass process is independent of the type of visa.

I didn’t think any embassy/consulates were selling the education visa unless you were doing a university course or going to an international school. However be that as it may, the ThailandPass is independent of any visa you may have or not.

😳 it’s for a Muay Thai school, they said that they are able to prepare the documents and I can apply directly with my embassy to enter on that. Is that not possible?

not currently for entry purposes. You may enter with a tourist visa or exempt entry and then convert in country. You should check with whatever embassy you’d use, but I’m fairly certain there’s none selling them as yet (for entry purposes).

😳😅 hope it’s not a scam then. Thanks anyway, I’ll contact the embassy this week

I doubt it’s a scam, just the school unaware that embassies won’t issue ED visas for entry purposes currently. Unless for university or IS.

following up here, there is also a high chance that I will be entering directly on an education visa (waiting to get the visa), as opposed to the regular tourist exemption as I initially specified in the application. Will that also be a problem?

Probably only the consulate could you tell absolutely, but I would think not.

I came in on Test & Go (though applied under CoE) with a re-entry permit (non-O). The passport control agent basically asked if I wanted to use that or do a tourist visa (since my non-O was expiring soon). I stuck with the re-entry since I knew I'd be renewing soon, but he didn't care about what the pass was granted under.

ThailandPass has a 72 hour window for changes the airline make. No need for you to reapply if it’s just a few hours.

nice. So as long as I confirm with the hotel who picks me up for the test and go, I have nothing else to worry about and no problems? Thanks Stuart

That should be the case. Have everything printed out, including the email from the airline indicating the changes, just in case questioned. You shouldn’t be but just in case.
