What are the requirements for booking a quarantine hotel under the Thailand Pass for a 5-day stay in Bangkok?

Hello all, I'm having some confusion booking a 5-day quarantine, sandbox hotel in Bangkok for January 8. The Thailand Pass application site says I need proof of 1: RT-PCR test and 1: antigen test along with my SHA hotel. But all the SHA Thailand Pass hotels only show 1 RT-PCR test included. I don't want my Thailand Pass to get rejected because my hotel receipt only shows the one RT-PCR test was paid for. Any insight on t his is appreciated. Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is confused about booking a 5-day quarantine or sandbox hotel in Bangkok. They mention needing both an RT-PCR test and an antigen test for their Thailand Pass application, but the hotel receipt they found only shows one RT-PCR test included. Clarifications in the comments indicate a mix-up between the quarantine and sandbox programs, and that the second test (an antigen test) would be self-administered and provided by the hotel.

The second COVID test .. ATK is a kit given to you by your Test N Go hotel. Self taken on day 7...report results via your provided phone online app.

Sandbox reduced to 5 nights

Can you please clarify your question? You say 5 day quarantine, but then you say sandbox. Quarantine and sandbox are completely different programs. Are you entering on Test & Go, Sandbox, or Quarantine?

Thanks for the reply. Sorry, I confused the terminology. I'm coming in on the Sandbox program January 6, 2022. I'm fully vaccinated with a US passport, but I'm coming from a country not on the test and go list. So, I'll need to stay at a hotel for 5 days and get tested twice. I believe the rules are changing Dec 15 that shorten the Sandbox stay from 7 to 5 days. On the Thailand Pass application site at tp.consular.go.th/en/plan it says to submit, "Paid AQ / SHA Extra+ hotel reservation confirmation throughout the 7 days period (including the fee for RT-PCR test and Antigen Self-test Kit)." They must not have updated the information for the new shorter stay. I'm having trouble finding a hotel for the 5-day Sandbox plan that includes a receipt for payment for the RT-PCR test and Antigen Self-test Kit. I have everything ready to upload except a receipt for a 5-day hotel with the two covid tests. One hotel said they have not updated their plans yet because there was no official announcement from the Thai government.

if you're using Bangkok, any Sandbox hotel will have the tests included. It's just how it works in Bangkok. The SHA Extra+ was instituted mostly because of the Test & Go program where people were booking hotels that didn't include testing, but if you book an actual sandbox package and it says sandbox, it shouldn't need to also say testing on the receipt.

It gets even more complicated because the packages don't and never have included testing in Phuket because you pay for that separately from a government website and have your test done at the Phuket airport on arrival.

Thanks for the information... yes, I'm flying into Bangkok. So, if I book a hotel with the SHA Extra+ certification and then upload my receipt on the Thai Pass application, there's no need for the receipt to include the two tests because that's a requirement in order for the hotel to be SHA Extra+ certified? I didn't want to get rejected because the paid tests were not included on my sandbox hotel receipt. One problem now is that hardly any hotels have updated their packages for the new 5-day program. All still say 7-day and their prices reflect seven days stays.

contact the hotels directly. It's just the easiest especially during a time of constantly changing guidelines.
