Hi all

I see we are down to seven day quarantine. Yahoo.

My question is. When applying online for visa do you just take pictures of documents and send them. I’m in the USA and need to do all online.

See you soon.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user asks about the process of applying for a visa online from the USA and whether they can simply take pictures of their documents for submission. The thread discusses current and potential changes to Thailand's quarantine requirements related to vaccination status and implies a need to follow official announcements regarding these rules. Several commenters mention the importance of using acceptable document formats (like PDF or JPEG) when submitting online applications. Some users advise caution regarding unofficial speculation about quarantine duration and requirements.

Wait for Singapore .

Thai will copy its health process . It will not devise its own .

Don't believe the speculation until it is official.

I found out by accident that filing for long stay Visa online is just an extra step. I still had to submit all paperwork by mail. I also had to include in the package the receipt of online application and payment. Please check the status of your e-filing often.

Yes, one way or another I still had to submit the hard copy of the required documents to the Embassy. I sent them in yesterday via express mail. Once logged in, click on "view" of the submitted application, then hover over the folder icon at far right, you'll see "application" and "payment" receipt. Click on application and verify the instructions here.

The royal gazette has not published anything re this ... there’s a number of options being floated in press and other forums about what would be required - proof of vaccines within 3 month period etc - some parts of the us you can’t travel anywhere from - uk can’t travel at all etc ... watch for the publication of the new rules ...regional

Quartine , stay length of ASQ , types of health certificates acceptable etc ...

Some chaff going around about a new rule coming into effect in April. 7 days for vaccinated people and 10 days for those who aren’t. It’s not official yet. Let’s wait and see if it transpires.

you also will require a vaccination certificate to drop it to 7 days....there is, at this time, no such thing being issued by any government outside of Israel

there are other countries doing it. I am in Saudi and have a vaccine certificate . It is linked to my residency permit , is visible for anyone to see through the government app and has a QR code that can be verified by any authorized body

Settle down. It's got to be ok'd by CCSA and guidelines approved by cabinet. I'd say October. Gives you enough time to get both jabs. I'll bet quarantine prices don't drop too much!

I agree. They will drag the current 14 day ASQ as long as they can. Also agree that the cost will remain the same for the 7 day ASQ. This is just another "dog that won't hunt" for expats like myself. I won't return until I can go straight from the airport to my condo without a Thai official standing there with his/her hand out wanting money. It's not a money issue for me. It's wanting to see how far they think they can go without totally destroying the tourism economy.

Todd Rawlings. There's always Thai officials with their hand out after your money. If they don't get you at the airport, they get you at immigration, and if you choose to drive to immigration, they'll get you there too. 🤣

the asq cost is room food and medical support. Not sure govt makes money on this. Less virus carrying people, less risk to people in thailand, less deaths, less sickness, ergo less cost to the country.

I haven't seen any stats of high risk infection coming in with tourists . It seems to be all the poor transmitting it , and young .

The deaths are very few .

Lots less than Australia etc.

Personally, I really don't care. I can wait to return until the entry conditions are eased back to pre-COVID.

I agree. The Thais will maintain some type of quarantine for many years to come. I expect well into 2023 now before the begrudgingly end the self-defeating quarantine.

They do when a false positive test is given. Thus requiring the transfer of the person to an affiliated hospital which then declines the COVID insurance and demands money up front. Numerous stories out there about this scam.
