How do I apply for a Non-B visa through the Thai E-visa system while in Thailand?

Hello, has anyone had experience applying for a visa through the Thai E-visa system? I’m applying for a Non-B visa to work as a teacher, and right now I have a tourist visa (TR). Do I need to fill out the application while I’m in Thailand, or do I have to go to a Thai consulate in another country? And how many days does it usually take to get the visa?

I applied for the 1 month ( and paid) extension before I left America, but when I arrived in Thailand they would not honor it. They said that I needed to go to immigration after 1 month. Buts whats funny is they honored my one month extension last summer when the tourist visa was 1 month on arrival

You cannot get an extension outside of Thailand, it looks like you were scammed. BTW, a Tourist Visa is always 60 days on entry.

Go to Vientiane or Savannakhet,

make SURE you have the correct documentation from your school to upload, apply online, go pay in person at the consulate and you should be approved in a day or two after that

those are the two fastest consulates in S/E Asia for "regular" Non-Imm visas (B, O, ED)

You choose which country you want to apply from, you then enter that country and apply on line for the visa, you then wait in that country until the evisa is issued. Every country has different timelines for issuance. (Laos, you will have to visit the embassy only to pay, not submit paperwork).

I checked the websites of each consulate, and they say it takes 10-15 working days. So does that mean I need to plan to stay there for a while to wait for the visa result? Or has anyone ever received the result faster than that? It seems like a long time, so I want to plan my stay accordingly.

Non-B tends to be done more quickly but depends on all the paperwork being correct. Yes you have to stay
