How can I obtain a Non-B visa for teaching while in Thailand with a 30-day stamp?

Good morning!

I’ve just come back to Thailand with 30 days stamp and I’ve got a contract here. So my question is how do we do now with non b? Do we have to go out like Lao or something or it can be done inside the country and if so how long does it take?

Thanks in advance 😉

TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a Non-B visa while already in Thailand with a 30-day stamp, the process can be done within the country provided your employer prepares all the necessary paperwork. You will need at least 15 days remaining on your current stamp. This process may take longer than a month, so you might need to extend your visa exemption stamp in the meantime.

Non B for teaching or Non B for business? Do you already have an employer?

, did you enter on your Russian passport? Is your 30days stamp visa-exempt or visa-waiver-on-bilateral-agreement?

just normal stamp I have 26 more days. Yup Russian passport

If you need some more time, go get an extension based on the embassy request, NOT a Covid extension.

I believe Russians and Ukrainians will get a 30days extension based on embassy requests without additional documents and also fee-free currently.

(You may need a letter from the Russian embassy if the current special treatment finishes)

Then you may not have a problem converting your visa later.

Russian passport holders are not visa-exempt, you entered on a visa-waiver program on a bilateral agreement.

well does it make it worse? I mean I can’t do non b, can I?

rather makes things easier for you than others. As I wrote above, people might have problems getting in-country Non-B after the Covid extension. But you have clearly another option currently.

unfortunately u can’t get any visa after the extension u r talking about

people who was rejected, in the other hand, some friends of mine got their non b after covid extension! So I have no idea how it really works.

The extension they doing for rus n Ukrainian it’s just cuz « u can’t get back » so it makes sense why people can’t get non b

, you are on visa-waiver so you are not eligible for a 30days tourism extension. Your choice would be a Covid extension, an extension based on embassy request, or Non-B visa directly.

Have your new employer sort documents for your visa within 10days

or

have them talk with the local immigration office to check if that IO allows you to apply for in-country Non-B after Covid extension.

If no for both, you need to leave the country again.

okay, same sense to Covid extension. Before, you could get in-country visas after Covid extensions. But it getting harder.

Since it can take more than a month for an employer to prepare the documentation, you will probably need to get the visa exemption stamp extension, and maybe even have to go on COVID extensions after that.

is it possible to get non b after covid extension?

I think so (not sure though). Search the group, I remember this was discussed in a post in the past month or so.

It can be done in country, if your employer can get all the paperwork ready (a lot more than if you get outside the country), and you will need at least 15 days remaining of your current permission of stay.
