Hello Everyone!

My agent keeps telling me I need to leave Thailand to apply for for the Non B Visa.

It is curious because for the previous 2 times I did not have to. Is there a way to apply for a Non B while being in Thailand?

In case I do need to leave: Wheres the best embassy to apply and go to nearby Thailand that will take the least amount of days?

Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the possibility of applying for a Non-B Visa while remaining in Thailand, contrasting with their previous experiences where leaving the country was not necessary. Community responses indicate that applying for a Non-B Visa from within Thailand can be complicated due to documentation requirements, often making it easier to apply from an embassy abroad. Suggestions include considering nearby countries like Malaysia for a quicker process, as personal experiences revealed it could take about a week to secure the necessary passport stamp after applying.

It will depend on your employer

Have you recently gone to Vietnam, Laos or Malaysia?

I did mine recently and the requested validation was a passport stamp from the country i was applying from.

I had to fly to Malaysia to get that stamp but possibly if you already have one, that could be enough to start your process.

You will still need to leave Thailand to come back in and get your passport stamped once your e-visa is approved.

This is my experience with Malaysia and it was a process that only took about a week. Could be different elsewhere

The amount of documents that are needed to apply for a Non B in country is huge and most companies can’t provide all that’s needed, therefore it’s way easier to provide a few documents that are needed for a non B application outside of Thailand.

What documents that would be required is dependent on the embassy you’re going to use, and the documents need to addressed to them specifically. Check their website for requirements.
