I hope this helps others.
I’m now in Thailand on a DTV visa for the first time, something I had hoped would happen years ago. I’ve always lived a digital nomad lifestyle in and out of Thailand, but until now I relied on tourist visas, border runs, and even a student visa—which, to be fair, was also a great opportunity to learn the language.
Now it’s different. Having a 5-year DTV visa is a dream come true, especially for a digital nomad from the Middle East whose work, stability, and peace of mind have often been affected by war. Thailand has always been a place of refuge and a country where I’ve felt at home.
I applied in early May under the Workation category, supporting my application with extensive evidence of my freelance career in digital marketing and advertising.
My documents included:
- Client and employment letters
- Proof of ongoing freelance work
- Bank statements showing steadily increasing savings over six months, growing from a few thousand baht to around 500,000 baht
- Well-established financial history and supporting documentation
I applied from Lebanon through the Royal Thai Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The result? Approval in just 8 days. No additional questions, no interview—just a welcome email granting my DTV visa.
Upon arrival, in the airport, no questions asked, very ensuring vibes, they looked at my printed e-visa, stamped passport, the traditional beautiful welcoming Thai vibes that i always received and appreciated here. Why i always keep cominh back..!
