Just after a bit advice to try and unfreeze my BB account

I’m 52 from the UK married to a Thai national for 20 years with 2 adult children with dual passports

We are travelling to Thailand in July for the summer and I need to unfreeze my BB account and from what I hear I’m wasting my time if I enter on 60 day visa waver so looking at applying for a visa that could help me achieve this

Maybe a non-O marriage visa ?

I’ve got the 400k in the bank or the 40k per month income so shouldn’t have any problems there

But online it says I need a copy of our marriage certificate which I have but also need the house registration but ours is at our house in Surin

Has anyone recently obtained the non-O who doesn’t have a house registration?

We aren’t intending to move back to Thailand until 2028 but I could really do with unfreezing my bank account this year if possible

Has anyone else been able to unfreeze their account any other way or with another type of visa?
Summary so far
The user is seeking advice on how to unfreeze their bank account while traveling to Thailand. They are married to a Thai national and are considering applying for a non-O visa to achieve this. The user has the necessary financial requirements for the visa but lacks the house registration for their marriage certificate. leave Thailand before your Visa expires, if even just for a few hours and return.

book a cheap flight somewhere near or do a border run, will start your 180 days again and no risk of overstaying, but 6k saved

The correct solution is to SURRENDER at your nearest Immigration Office, pay the fine (500 baht per day) and apply for an extension of stay.

You will get 7 days (or less likely, 30 days), but now you can safely go to the airport. Keep your receipt. It's your insurance for when you get checked BEFORE the airport/border, which counts as an arrest AND 5 year blacklist.

Anyone telling you otherwise is the exact type of careless foreigner Anutin wants to get rid of. Tourists who abuse the system and normalize 1-2-3 days of overstay while the law is CLEAR. Officers on patrol are there to strictly enforce the actual laws because else it's '4 days' next year.

Do NOT gamble with the laws in Thailand.

is exactly the kind of Facebook guy who gets you in trouble with "trust me bro" immigration advice.

"Only 1–2 days" is not a visa rule. There is NO grace period. Many people got lucky before and now think their luck is law.

Thai law is simple: if you surrender at the office/airport/border, you pay the 500 baht/day fine. If you get caught first, the arrest table applies. That table says even one day leads to a 5 YEAR BAN. Read it now.

It's pure gambling for people that don't plan ahead, or worse: you thought you were above it all and invent your own rules. No country lets you do that. Offenders get caught, but they pay the price in silence.

You never hear their stories on Facebook because people would just laugh and call them a fool. This group can't help you with a 5 year blacklist. Believe what you want, but respect Thai law. You are a guest.

Don't become an example of a bad tourist.

You just have to pay- they don't make a big deal of one day unless you're habitual. I accidentally overstayed a couple of times and just paid at the airport. I didn't have any issues entering Thailand after

Why would you even risk this?

This may work fine for you in Thailand but what about showing up in another country and immigration there sees your overstay stamp? Is it a long shot? Sure. So is the chance that you get stopped on the way to the airport, get asked for your passport, and then getting grabbed, missing your flight, having to buy another ticket and getting blacklisted.

Or denied entry at another country and having to fix it there.

Its all a long shot but .......

If flying out of the country and your overstay is less than 24 hours the fine will be waived and you will get an overstay one day, fine waived stamp put in your passport. The time is determined by when you go through passport control not your flight time.

NO, you're risking to get blacklisted for 5 years. It's very possible to get caught with one day overstay before you make it to the airport or border and then you're absolutely screwed.

Bangkok is known for having random immigration checkpoints in the city, and I've also heard from people with 1-2 days overstay that got busted DURING a border run. Some agencies don't even take people with overstay for this reason.

Do NOT risk it. The 500 baht fine is only at Immigration (office, border, airport). If you get caught by officers on patrol on your way there with even ONE day overstay, you WILL be deported and blacklisted for 5 years.

IndigoStrawberry3658 wtf are you saying even… half of Thailand has overstay 1-2-3 days it happens …

Can’t teleport or something

The picture you send says 90!!! Days not 1-2 days

Disney talkers comparing a normal 1-2 day overstay with overstaying 90 days or more

I mean you can read right?

Have common sense right?

1-2 days can happen…

90 days that’s 3 months that’s not an accident that’s on purpose

I talk off experience not some imaginary thoughts

Nobody will get blacklisted for a few days overstay

Grow up sensation talker

IndigoStrawberry3658 yeah and who puts their stamps and who drives to the borders? 🤦

You all talk as if people put their own stamps or something 555

I’m Dutch imagine my country takes the money and put the stamps

But then after a while be oooooh this can’t be…

Then make the system proper from the start.

It’s always complains about their own short term thinking rules.

Same smoke policies

In Netherlands it’s limited shops

Limited buying and id checks

In Thailand it’s 100 shops in one street

Unregulated everything

And now it’s out of hand

But who can fix that?

The Thais

Immigration detention centers are full of people like you. No respect for the law, normalizing 1-3 days overstay as 'travel hack'.

People get checked by immigration patrols anywhere: streets of Sukhumvit, at the piers (Samui, Phangan, Tao), in front of Phuket airport. The most unlucky Russians even get caught during border runs when the minivan gets stopped at a checkpoint.

Immigration doesn't care if you say you planned to leave but thought "1-3 days was OK" and your cousin "paid 1000 baht at the airport in 2024". Immigration officers on patrol hate foreigners that think THEY make the rules. They won't let you slip and will do their strict job. You go into the box.

You're just freaking out because you did it before and didn't get caught.

Go to immigration and tell them you miscalculated departure and ask what you can do.. asking on Facebook won't give you any reliable answer.

But overstay fine it's 500 baht per day up to 20k baht and other penalties come over effect during that time too.

No. I'm after specifics. Someone just saying do not it is not useful. Someone saying that they did it and was fine or a friend did it and got x problem is useful. Your comment falls into the useless category unfortunately

gave you the correct answer...

I did this in 2023 and went to the airport at 11pm to check in on the correct day. The op want to work illegally for another day it seems.

It's not a big deal... many people are on overstay one day because they failed to count their arrival day as day #1.
