I'm a little confused about the Bank requirement for the marriage visa. I have had a thai bank account for 3 years and have maintained 400,000 thb in the account. Can I just show immigration that I have maintained 400,000 thb in the account with an updated bank statement or do I need a letter from the the bank?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks clarification on whether showing an updated bank statement indicating a maintenance of 400,000 THB in a Thai bank account is sufficient for a marriage visa application or if a bank letter is also needed. Comments provide varying requirements depending on local immigration office policies, suggesting possible alternative financial proofs such as income statements.

doesn't work for the first year oh and I've never heard of these amounts being required

@Phil *****
yeah most seem to just show the saving part - proof of income is in your statements anyway but they have these requirements

My local office requires a 3 month bank statement stamped by the bank, no app downloads accepted. A certificate of deposit letter dated the day of application. A copy of every page of your bank book updated on day of application. Check your local office requirements.

Or show a monthly income of 75,000 or combination of both - correction 40,000 75,000 is retirement visa

@Andrew *******
incorrect, do more reading.

that's totally false information. The most he would have to show is 40k monthly which has to be paid into his thai bank account and showing it comes from outside of Thailand.

Not got a clue where you have got 75k from.

@Stuart *****
i got the retirement visa mixed in there - so sue me

it's 65k not 75k . See you in court. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰

Be more clear about what you are asking about.

Are you asking about the 90-day non-O VISA, or are you asking about an EXTENSION?

If you are asking about the visa, are you asking about it from a Thai embassy outside of Thailand, or are you asking about it from an immigration office inside of Thailand?

The answers for all of these is different.

If you are actually asking about the immigration office, your VERY FIRST step is going to the immigration office and asking for their handout of requirements to either apply for a non-O visa based on marriage, or their handout for a 1-year extension based on marriage. This list will tell you exactly what you need for YOUR immigration office, since each immigration office has their own requirements.

There are some immigration offices that don't even allow you to convert to a non-O visa, so the immigration office is your first stop.

I'm asking about the the1 year extension for the marriage visa I'm in Thailand on the 90 day non-O visa and it is unclear to me where I can just show immigration my bank book that shows I have been maintaining 400,000 thb my thai bank account. Do I need a letter from my thai Bank when I go to immigration for the 1 year extension?

@Robert ********
you need to go to your immigration office and ask them for their handout of requirements for the 1-year extension based on marriage. That will tell you exactly what you need from the bank.
