I'm going to quit teaching at my current high school and work at a language school soon. The owner of the language school said I'll be full-time and he'll provide the documents for me to get a visa and work permit. I was told by previous coworkers that I just need a cancellation letter from my current school, bring it in with documents from the new school and I can easily switch schools on my non b visa because of the pandemic. They said rules have changed and I won't have to leave the country. I hope this is true. The problem is the owner of the language school isn't familiar with the visa process and everyone just has general information. Was I given correct information? If this is true where can I find the official website for what I need to do? I want to show it to my new boss so he know exactly what he needs to do and what documents I need. Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is transitioning from teaching at a high school to a language school in Thailand and seeks to switch their Non-B visa without leaving the country, as recent information suggests this may be easier due to pandemic-related changes. Comments advise caution, recommend visiting the local immigration office with the new employer to clarify the process, highlight the importance of getting proper documentation, and confirm the timing of applications relative to visa expiration. They emphasize the significance of understanding specific requirements and possibly getting help from a Thai-speaking friend.

Be very careful with that. If you have a thai speaking friend, ask his/her help. I did it the other way around and it was a mess. When they say "easy" it means they don't know ๐Ÿ˜€

Ok. Thanks. I'll try to at least have my new boss call an officer. Hopefully I'll have enough time to do everything in the right order. This will be stressful. I assume I must apply 15 days before the non B visa expires with my new work permit too.

Go to your local immigration office with your new employer and ask about the process and requirements. You will need to get a new work permit on time to apply for a new extension.

Are you still on the initial 90 days you got on entry using the Non Immigrant B visa OR did you already visit the Immigration Office and got a new stamp with the text Extension of Stay is permitted up to xx/xx/xx ?

In either way you need to go with your new employer to the Immigration Office and ask if it is possible to apply for a new Extension using the documents from your new employer.
Robert *******
then you have to cancel this Extension of Stay and your work permit at the last day of working at your current employer and hoping your new employer has all in place to apply directly for a new Extension of Stay.

From my previous school, I already had the 90 day period and later had it extended to one year and got a work permit. It expires on Feb 15th.
