I got DTV and I’m in Thailand now. I want to buy health insurance. The online application asks for Thai identification card number. Where do I get this ID card?

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you hold a DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) in Thailand, you do not qualify for a Thai identification card, which is typically issued to Thai citizens and those with long-term visas like the Non-O visa. For health insurance, you will often need to use your passport number instead. It's advisable to first consider short-term travel health insurance as you explore your options. Many insurance products are available that do not require a Thai ID and may accommodate your visa type, but it's important to consult with insurance brokers to find the best policies suited for your situation.

You need a long term visa such as an O to even think about getting a Pink ID Card. Not getting it on a DTV. Even some insurers that insure without that card will only do on a long term visa such as O or B. Best to contact brokers as suggested who know what is available.

it would need to be passport number, many western insurance brokers here to help you. First maybe come with a travel insurance for 1 or 2 months, then gives you time to change and set up suitable policy for a Thai health insurance. Be careful on max per night for hospital, many thai policies only pay to 3000 baht, enough for government private room or upcountry hospital but should you be staying in a tourist area and require private hospital which all have private rooms and english speaking staff you need 6000 a night cover

I suggest you come with a travel cover to start, then ask around expats and talk to brokers. Medical insurance are annually so not sure suitable for you and much more expensive as they don't send you home for surgery but take care of you here, very different
