Hi a bit of help here please. I've missed the date to get my 400 000 bank balance for 60 days to renew my Non O based on marriage. So I need to get a letter from the embassy. I'm a Brit and never done this part before. If anyone can help esp with a PM that would be appreciated. TIA and have a good day y'all.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster is seeking help after missing the deadline to show a 400,000 THB bank balance for their Non O visa renewal based on marriage. They inquire about obtaining a letter from the UK embassy, as they have never done this before. Comments suggest that the consul's affidavit is valid for three months and provide alternative advice on applying for a 60-day family visit extension without financial requirements. A link for obtaining the affidavit from the UK Consulate is also shared.

Affidavits of income from abroad notaries are good for 6 months from the date they're issued.

Although some immigration offices think they're not, it's actually a real rule passed back in 2013 I believe

You could also just apply for a 60 day "visit family" extension based on marriage without any financial requirements at the immigration office for 1900baht and then your money will be seasoned enough when you apply for the year.

, just to complicate things I have a new job about to start and will have docs for work permit. however I'm guessing i cannot get that on 60 day visit family, and even if I could the work permit itself would only be 60 days max.

So I'm thinking of going to savannaket and getting the ME non O based on marriage and i think it solves all my problems except I have to throw a load of cash down the drain which I don't have right now but hey it's only money right?

BOTH Hull and Cardiff can only issue 90 day single entry Non-O visas based on marriage :(

To get a year-long, multi-entry Non-O you'd have to use the consulate in London.

Here are the requirements;

you'd have to contact the consulate there and see what their requirements are.

You sure there IS a thai consulate in Birmingham? It closed a few years ago, and I didn't read that it re-opened.

I know of Hull, Cardiff and London.

Once you got the 60 day extension IF you were leaving the country during that time you'd need a re-entry permit (1000baht single re-entry) and you would have to come back before that 60 days is up. but it won't affect anything as far as you getting your yearly extension once your money has seasoned the requisite time.

Wow! I did not know that! My employer is late to pay that's the problem... amazing. Is this complicated in any way by leaving the country during this 60 day period or would that be unaffected?

Asking for a friend. What if a person didn't actually have any income, could they still get the letter?
