I am currently in Phuket, normally residing in Chiang Mai ( we came down in February to escape the smog) and a UK national married and have a valid work permit.
My visa is a Non-O multiple entry which needs to be renewed (by leaving the country) on the 15th of April.
Can anyone let me know if I need the visa letter from the British embassy to get a 60 day extension for visiting my wife and how long they are valid for. I understand that it will take a few days to get one so is it better to apply now if needed?
I have all of our documents with us luckily, however my work permit is for chiang mai so would I need a residence certificate for here? We’re staying in an air bnb so not sure if the TM30 has been completed.
Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK national in Phuket with a Non-O multiple entry visa can apply for a 60-day extension without needing a visa letter from the British embassy. The extension can be processed at the local Immigration Office, using documentation such as proof of stay. However, having a TM30 filed is necessary for extensions in Phuket. If the work permit is registered in Chiang Mai, that immigration office is also acceptable, but proof of residence where currently staying may be required.

To get a 60 day visit thai family extension you don't need to show your work permit. You show that you're living at an address covered by the immigration office you're using for the extension
Last time I checked Phuket was requiring proof of a TM30 having been filed for where you're staying down there to get extensions like the 60 day visit thai family extension.
