Hi everyone,

Ive recieved great help from people on this site.

Im applying for non imm O based on marriage, ive got all the forms except my bank letters which ill get around 28th Dec when my 4 00,000 has matured for the 60 days

I see you need two bank letters , i did get a receipt letter when the money was put in on the 25th October.

Will that letter be ok and then get another when its matured saying its all still there?

Im worried as my brother put the money in my Thai account and just want to be sure as ive got it right this far.

Its my money but my brother put it in as i had to reopen bank account when i arrived , and wasnt sure about how to do it.

Thanks for any help and apoloogies if its a stupid question.

Thanks again everyone.

Andy

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is applying for a Non-O visa extension based on marriage and is seeking advice about required bank documents. They have one receipt letter from their Thai bank for a deposit made by their brother, and are unsure if it's sufficient along with another letter once the money matures. Community responses clarify that since the user already holds a Non-O visa, they need a bank letter confirming that the funds have been in their account for at least two months before applying for the extension, and that the source of the funds does not matter as long as they are in a Thai bank account.

I suggest you and your wife GO to the immigration office BEFORE you want to apply for the year extension, get the hand out that lists the required documentation, photos, copies etc, get it all together and then go apply for your extension when you have 30 days or less left on your current 90 day Non-O visa entry stamp.

Yes thats the plan Tod.

Sorry for the misinformation, it gets confusing when new to it.

Yes thats what ill do , 60 days of the 90 is up today , so ill go this week and make sure everythings in order.

I did get the handout explaining what i needed , and i have everything except the bank letters.

Thanks for your help.

Okay now we're getting somewhere

You are NOT applying for a Non-O VISA <- seeing as you HAVE one already..

You are applying for a yearly extension of stay based on marriage because you already have that Non-O visa.

There is nothing in the rules about getting yearly extensions that state the money must come from overseas, so you're fine.

The only requirement is that the money needs to be IN a thai bank account in your name for 2 months BEFORE you apply for your yearly extension at the immigration office.

You get a letter from the bank which is basically a form letter stating your name, the account and the balance on that date, AND then you update your bank book on the date you apply.

The bank letter looks like this

There is a HUGE difference between you applying for a 90 day Non-O visa based on marriage from an immigration office <- where a requirement is that the money HAS to come from overseas,

AND

A year long extension of stay based on marriage from the immigration office <- where there is no requirement as far as where the money comes from.

Hi Todd.

Im sorry im terrible at this.

I got the non imm O in the UK , then was told all i had to do regarding marriage certs , house book etc at immigration in Nakhon Si Thammarat.

My brother put money in on 25th October so will be matured in a week or so.

Is the receipt i got when the money was put in from my Thailand bank ok , and then get another just before i put in extension or do i need two letters from bank before extension.

Sorry if im not very clear.
