TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking a letter from the Ministry of Education necessary for extending their DTV visa, which has posed a challenge as their Muay Thai gym is unsure how to obtain this documentation. Comments indicate that the process may take a long time, and several users suggest opting for a border run instead, stating that immigration is now stricter with visa regulations and that extensions are increasingly difficult to obtain.
If you are not studying Muay Thai every day for 5 years with all the curriculum and progression courses and everything in writing from your school, they will try to not let you into Thailand.
They are hunting people at the airport and borders. Because immigration weren't involved in the visa setup they don't want people on the DTV. Even if you mention volunteering or working online, they will want you off the DTV.
Paul Hinshaw There are a few rats that slipped through on 3 month softcation ie. Muay Thai courses etc Now being found out, many will have their DTV revoked if shown to have abused the system. Thai immigration is all powerful
The form you put on here is an approval letter to extend visa from Ministry of Education which if this school is registered properly, they can obtain the letter for you.
It’s possible but takes a long time 4-6 weeks. They have to request it from ministry of education in Bangkok. If they have done education visas before it’s the same process they will use for that 🙏
I wouldn't try as its not the easiest way to get a reset. I would go to an adjoining country and then come back in and get stamped in for a new 180 days. I have only heard on one person being successful with a DTV extension and the effort they had to go through and that was for remote working
