What is the process for applying for a DTV visa in Laos with a gym acceptance letter?

Hello 🙏. I am looking to apply for a DTV visa in Laos as I heard it was a fast process (around a week)

I am currently talking to a gym in North Phuket about getting a letter of acceptance for a 6 month course that I can present to the embassy along with my bank account funds.

The gym is fully certified as a professional Muay Thai Camp. There is a plaque outside stating their certification by the Office of Boxing Sport Board , Sports Authority of Thailand Ministry of Tourism and Sports.

My question is do I just need to get the letter of acceptance written by the gym (1 day) or do I have to wait for the Boxing office in Thailand to approve me first before applying in Loas. I think the gym owner doesn’t fully understand the process about this letter and keeps trying to refer me to his agent.

From my research I understood he can write the letter and I can immediately go to Loas and be approved quickly. Am I correct ? Thanks 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks guidance on applying for a DTV visa in Laos, specifically whether they need prior approval from the Boxing office in Thailand or if a letter from the gym will suffice. Comments suggest that while the gym's letter is important, relying solely on it may not guarantee quick approval, and that the embassy in Laos may require an interview which could delay the process.

The process of going through the Board of Boxing sport is the gold star of muay thai gym documents but can take 8 weeks so we dont do it and have had no problem. Get the gym to create a documents pack with invite, curriculum etc and include business and sports authority certification. Thats accepted by nearly every embassy in the world if presented well.

many thanks for your response. With regards to curriculum is there anything you suggest using?

Anonymous participant we just chuck in a broad curriculum. We highlight that we teach some traditional aspects and Muay Thai history to as this is in line with the drive to showcase Thai Culture and tradition.

We do teach students Ram Muay, Wai Kru and Mongkom making

I applied on 29th. Interview is on 11th dec.

I think 10 days is a bit optimistic

The gym should know the process. If they dont i i would stay clear. And laos is pretty fast but they do interview so will take a couple of days extra just because of that

Anonymous participant just be honest and answer the questions they have. Its gonna be about your paperwork and the plan for your 5 year visa

Get in touch with a better gym. Tiger Eye Muay Thai in Bangkok.

Besides that it's a good gym, the staff speaks English.

I don’t think Laos takes only a week. It is the one embassy that seems to require interviews which are often schedule 1-3 weeks out

DTV_BegPecker what country is the fastest ? I’m in Malaysia currently. I got held a night in Phuket airport and deported back to Malaysia. Was pretty grim. I had too many tourist stamps for their liking

Anonymous participant Indonesia and Vietnam seem to be the fastest. Malaysia is difficult. Cambodia is very slow
