Hi all —

I’m here in Chiang Mai on a Muay Thai Ed Visa which expires on May 9th.

My Muay Thai school is telling me to follow normal protocol and go to immigration for an 90 day extension, I keep reading/getting conflicting advice.

Can you someone please confirm the best course of action regarding the amnesty visa extension?

Thanks,

Totally correct advice (y)

Even though it's only 90 days at a time, you're on what's considered a "long term extension of stay"

AND

You need to get the documents from the school, go do your extension like normal AND do your 90 day reporting like normal

It's our opinion that a person should always get an extension of stay if they qualify. Follow the normal protocol to get the 90 day extension for being a Muay Thai student.
