I haven't seen anyone with this question so here goes...

Has anyone successfully extended their tourist visa with an embassy letter?

I want to change my tourist visa, which i already extended before amnesty, to an education visa. However this requires 21-40 days apparently.

The NZ embassy wrote me a letter asking if immigration would extend my visa, to give me time to apply for another visa, as there are no flights etc.

Chiang Mai immigration basically told me to bugger off.

Anyone know of a province where immigration is more understanding?

Ask your Embassy if they are issuing extension letters.

USA says NO.

And its up to local Thai Immigration IF they will accept the extensions letters.

Good Luck
