How can I extend my Visa-on-Arrival in Thailand or what’s the best border run option?

Hi there,

I am in Thailand, on a visa-on-arrival ( Romanian passport ), due to expire on the 20th of December. Would like to stay for another 2 weeks.

What's best? Is there any way to extend it ? And if not, what's the quickest border run I could do? I am now in Phuket but will go to Bangkok at some point.

As a UK resident, I could apply for a E-visa ( stickerless ), online. Could I do that from within Thailand ?

Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently in Thailand on a VN Visa-on-Arrival, set to expire on December 20th, and seeks to extend their stay by another two weeks. They are inquiring about possible extensions or the quickest border run available, mentioning their potential travel from Phuket to Bangkok. Feedback from the community clarifies that extensions for the Visa-on-Arrival are not allowed for Romanian passport holders and suggests consulting border run services for alternative visa options or making a border crossing to Laos to obtain a new visa.

I have asked

about your situation. As it's night time in Thailand , he may reply to your post in the morning.

You edited your Post as I was replying...

I will try again...

As you entered Thailand with a Romania passport, you entered VOA Visa on Arrival. Stamped in for 30 days.

You are 🚫 NOT eligible for any extension of stay.

Suggest you contact an experienced border run service company in Bangkok or Chiang Mai...

Ask them if it's possible for you to do a NEW VOA Visa on Arrival at a land border crossing between Thailand and Laos?

OR obtain a Thai Tourist Visa from the Thai Embassy in Savannakhet Laos ???

Be sure to tell them your passport nation of Romania AND you arrived into Thailand VOA Visa on Arrival.

They will know what your options are... If any.

DO NOT OVERSTAY your current VOA Visa on Arrival stamped date in your passport.

Good 🤞 Luck

Thank you so much. Would you know, by any chance, if I am able to apply for an Electronic visa ( E-visa stickerless ) from within Thailand ?

I have chatted with Tod.... Suggests that you go to Savannakhet Laos and apply for a Thai tourist visa...

Be sure to use an experienced border visa run commercial company from Chiang Mai or Bangkok..... as they know what you need to do and what the Thai Embassy is doing.

As you are in PHUKET... Fly to Chiang Mai and go from there to Savannakhet.

There is NO new land border VOA Visa on Arrival available to you.

Not likely.. But you can try. You should have done that before you came to Thailand. As you hold resident status in the UK, IF I understand your situation.

It may be possible to get a Thai tourist visa from the Thai Embassy or Consulate in Savannakhet Laos or Vientiane Laos... With your UK resident status.
@Tod ********
may offer his thoughts on that possibility.
