Hello all.

So I'm an American in the Bangkok area and I'm coming up on my 60 days and want to get a 30 day extension. So I'm seeing the forms I think I need to fill out but am unsure if the condo where I'm staying should provide any info on where I'm staying or if i need to fill out something myself.

I know I need a passport photo and a copy of my passport to provide to immigration.

I was hoping that someone who's done this could give me a little guidance.

I would appreciate any help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
An American expat in Thailand is looking for guidance on how to extend their visa for an additional 30 days. They need to know if the condo they’re renting needs to provide information for the TM30 form and what documentation they need to bring for the immigration process. Community members offer advice on necessary documents, including a TM30, a passport photo, copies of the passport, and guidance on where to go for the visa extension process.

I am not through an agency. Do I ask the front desk at my condo if they submitted a TM30 on my behalf? I'm a little confused. I need to have this done on the 25th. What about forms TM6 and TM7?

You need a translated copy of your passport translated by a certified translator.

First, stay at a hotel where they do notify the immigration system of your TM30, or if you are stay in a condo, talk to them, especially if your agency found the condo for rent, tell them that they did it for you to notify you to the immigration system. because if you do it yourself, many paper will ask for you to submit like the condo owner's ID, permit, etc., it will give you a headache.

i was there today, all you need is your passport, a picture of yourself, photocopies of your passport, ฿1900, and that’s it. They have the forms you need there. Make sure you fill it out in blue pen, I used turquoise pen and they made me redo it. Go to IT laksi don’t even bother going to immigration division one because they will send you to IT Laksi and you will have wasted your time. Try to go as early as you can, I got there around 9:30 bc i went to the wrong place and the line just to get a queue number took almost 2 hours. Once you get your number everything passes by quickly they didn’t ask me for a TM 30 form but it’s probably because my leasing agent already filled it out for me and submitted it. i got out around like 2:45 bc they take an hour off for lunch. bring snacks, a portable charger and something to do

If you bought a Tourist Visa from a Thai Embassy/Consulate outside Thailand before you entered, you get your extension from the main Immigration Office at Chaengwattana, Building B, Counter J. If you entered on visa-exempt, you are going to go to IT Square, Laksi Plaza (3rd Floor) temporary office, just next to Lak Si station of SRT Dark Red Line. All extensions cost 1900B.

Ask hotel reception for your TM30.

Once you got a tm30 filled by your condo owner, head on over to IT Square in Lak Si. That is where they process the visa exempt entries. If they don’t give you one then check in at a hotel the day before and get one from them and use that address. At IT square 3rd floor they have printed forms of everything you need to sign. Anything else you need you can get done at the printshop right next to the immigration area. Remember to use a blue pen. They even sell them there and at the coffee shop nearby. If you have your forms already filled in then take them along as it will speed up time. Wait times are fairly decent currently. Just be aware that they take a lunch break from 12-1pm. So have your lunch then as well if you haven’t got all done first.

I’m just curious as to why it must be blue pen? I skipped the extension and went straight to education visa so I lack the experience you’re talking about.

because it takes out the guessing it could be a copy. A blue ink signature under a black n white text is more of a statement

Has the place your staying done a tm30 ?

Go to immigration and fill in the form. You'll need your TM30 too.

You will need a valid TM30 from the owners of the Condo where you are staying.
