Hi everyone,

this group has helped me a lot in the past, so I’m hoping for your advice again 😊

I arrived in Thailand with a German passport in mid-November 2025. I then extended my visa for another 30 days mid of January 2026 at Chiang Mai Immigration. In about 10 days my current stay/visa will expire, but my flight back to Germany is at the end of March.

I’d prefer not to do a long visa run trip because I really enjoy staying here in Chiang Mai. While looking into options, I came across visa border run services to Laos. According to them, it’s a one-day trip and a new 60-day stay is guaranteed.

Does anyone here have experience with these services, and are they legit?

Also, could this cause any issues when re-entering Thailand later this year (around December, maybe January next year), since my last stay would have included a quick border crossing?

I really appreciate any insights or advice. Thanks in advance 🙏

Chiang Mai Visa Run (I think that's the name) has a long history of success. And as John said, they won't even take you if they can't get you out and back in. You can no longer do this in a single day on your own, only with a border bounce agency.

That's right and talking to them it seems legit for sure. No issues though to get back to Thailand the same year because of an intraday border crossing to extend the visa?

no one can answer that. It'll be up to the immigration officer you're standing in front of when you're trying to enter later this year.

I'm in a DTV group, and one of our members just reported a successful border bounce at Chiang Khong using an agent from Chiang Mai, so you should be fine.

Alaa Rider come on you cannot be serious. He is in Chiang Mai and a border bounce with an agency takes 6 hours the utmost

if you have no other history it shouldn't be an issue but the immigration officer will look at your history and make a judgement

Well i am coming to Thailand since 7-8 years, not all year but sometimes also for longer stretches. In that case better do a real trip out? Quite confusing the situation. Or is the worst case that the immigration officers asks for onward flight and 20k THB?
