I have a Non-Imm type O (volunteer) visa. It’s a 90 day visa that I have been renewing since I got it on 18 December 2019. This visa type is apparently only good for up to 1 year, or in other words, 3 additional 90 day extensions. Within a year, you need to apply for a new visa from outside Thailand at a Thai embassy. I last applied to renew my current visa on 30 September so I’m currently under the 30 day consideration/confirmation period and will go to get the 60 day stamp extension on 28 October. I’m concerned they will tell me I have to leave the country by 18 December 2020 since that will mark 1 year with my current visa.
Does any one have the same volunteer visa? Any word on if this has been also granted an amnesty period? Anything I can do to extend it beyond one year without leaving?
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on extending a Non-Imm O (volunteer) visa, which is valid for 90 days with possible extensions for up to one year total. They are concerned about the upcoming expiration of their visa and are inquiring about any potential amnesty periods or options to extend their stay without needing to leave Thailand. Comments suggest that the organization they volunteer for may assist in the extension process if they are still active and require their help.
