How can I stay in Thailand after my Non-O extension expires, and can I change my visa type?

Taiwan passport, Non-O.

When I was in the process of getting extension, I ran into a problem. My visa is for volunteer at a orphanage. And this year, the foundation that orphanage belongs to needs to register for new board. The problem is that two out of three board members refuse to continue to be on the board. This means I was not able to obtain papers needed for visa extension.

Question

1. How can I stay in Thailand after my current extension expires?

2. Can I change visa from visa amnesty or other method mentioned above to Non-O?

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently facing difficulties in extending their Non-O visa, which is tied to volunteering at an orphanage. Due to changes in the orphanage's board, they cannot provide the needed documents for the extension. The user seeks advice on how to remain in Thailand after their current extension expires and whether they can change their visa from amnesty or another method to a Non-O visa.

I betcha you are not on a visa, but instead an extension of stay based on volunteering. What you would do is get a letter from the volunteer group to cancel the existing extension of stay and any work permits, then you would apply for a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19.

Sorry, sir. One more thing.

Would Chiangmai Immigration office accept letter in email attachment from embassy?

yes, they will accept a print out of the letter from your embassy requesting a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19

The termination letter should be signed by your direct supervisor. You may have to talk to the local labor department for their exact requirements.

In theory, you should be able to get another Non-o visa based on volunteering in the future.

Sorry, sir. I kept telling myself that it's a extension, not a visa, and forgot about it right when I was writing the question part.

Question about cancelling extension and work permit: Who should sign the letter? I mean the board is two short. Also, can I change back to Non-O when things are settled?
