I'm currently on a 60-day tourist visa which I can extend for another 30 days at the end of this month (expires on the 29th of April).
Now that the 60 day COVID-extension is available until the end of May, I'm wondering what the best way to extend my visa would be.
Is it possible to get the extension for my tourist visa and get the COVID-extension afterwards, or should I get the COVID-extension right away?
Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks advice on how to best extend their 60-day tourist visa, which expires on April 29, with the new COVID-19 extension available until the end of May. They inquire whether to first extend their tourist visa for an additional 30 days or directly opt for the COVID-19 extension. Responses suggest that the user should first apply for the 30-day extension at their local immigration office before the expiration date, and then later pursue the COVID extension as it may be the more favorable option.

I have a similar question, today I extend my 60-day tourist visa for 30 days. How much time I need to wait for covid visa extension? Can I go for example tomorrow and get the covid extension?
You’ll first get the 30 days, you really have no choice at this point, it’s up to the official. It’s actually the better option for you, go to immigration before May 29th to get the 60 day COVID extension.
You can apply for the 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19, however expect to be sold a 30 day extension of stay based on tourism instead.
The 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19 is technically an optional extension. I have heard of some people being verbally rejected for this extension and should not be used as a way to stay longer in Thailand.
