Hi, I arrived August 18th on a 60 day tourist visa. Looking to extend by 30 days.
This group has been helpful so far, though I still have a few questions before I head to the immigration office:
1) I did not receive a TM6 on the inbound flight. Is this mandatory? If so, how can I get one?
2) I’ve just filed my TM30 with the juristic person at the condo. I did not receive a written receipt, instead she told me to take a photo of the device she used to complete the TM30, which struck me as odd. Is this normal? Will this be sufficient evidence to extend?
3) Originally, I had booked onward travel within the 60 days. Must I show evidence of onward travel at the end of the 90 days if I’m now seeking an extension? Can I book this after or should I do this before an extension is granted?
4) I presume the TM7 form found here [[members only]] is the correct one, and that I should complete this before visiting the immigration office?
Thanks in advance!
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is looking to extend their 60-day tourist visa by 30 days and has several questions about the process. Key concerns include the absence of a TM6 upon arrival, whether their photo of the TM30 submission is sufficient as evidence, the necessity of showing onward travel documentation during the extension application, and confirmation of the correct TM7 form for the extension process. Responses confirm that a TM6 is no longer used, assure that the photo serves as valid evidence of the TM30 submission, and suggest that onward travel documentation is typically not required for a visa extension.
