Question: currently on Amnesty. I still have the 60 day to visit family option available to me (and possibly the 30-day Embassy letter too). Is it possible to get a Non-O visa based on marriage with say 5-6 months of 40K Baht International transfers at Chiang Mai Immigration or is it 12 months or nothing? I had heard that C.M. Immigration was encouraging people to come by and they would see if they could help on a case by case basis. Any truth to that before I head over there? Thank you.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on obtaining a Non-O visa in Thailand based on marriage, while currently on Amnesty. They inquire if 5-6 months of bank transfers of at least 40,000 Baht would be sufficient for the application at Chiang Mai Immigration, or if they must provide evidence for a full 12 months. Responses suggest that the user should visit the immigration office directly to evaluate their situation, especially since they are currently on Amnesty, which limits their options. It is also recommended they consider applying for a 60-day family visa extension first.
