I need information about visa for baby. Need to extend my visa on 18th Oct and fly home on the 31st. Does my 16 month old baby need the visa extension too or not? Some say yes, some say no.

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The question seeks clarification on whether a 16-month-old baby requires a visa extension to accompany the parent who needs to extend their visa in Thailand. Various comments indicate that while officially a visa and extension are required for the baby, children under 15 years are not penalized for overstaying, leading some to suggest that it might be acceptable not to get the extension. Additional points include the baby's nationality affecting their visa status and inquiries about the need for the baby to accompany the parent to immigration for the extension process.

If I would get a visa, does my baby have to go with me to the immigration or can he stay home?

Well, sure. I meant if I get the visa for me and my baby. Can I get the visa without taking my baby with me. Of course I would take his passport.

Thanks for your answers. That means we would be fine if I play the overstay card?

For an adult, Do *NOT* overstay. Never. The risk is way too high. For your baby, they can be on overstay until they are 15 years old.

My baby was born in Germany.

Where was your baby born? If in Thailand, he/she is fine and legal, as they will have a Thai birth certificate. When they leave a note is made in their (foreign) passport.

I noticed. That's why I deleted my original comment. I guess Facebook didn't delete it fast enough.

Officially your baby does need a visa and the Extension of Stay. But as children till 15 years of age are not fined for overstay, people will use this as reason to tell it is not needed.

Sorry, reading the 16 month old, did asume they not live inside Thailand.

The baby only needs an Extension if they entered Thailand on a foreign passport. If they were born here they are fine until their parents decide to leave and get them a foreign passport.
