TLDR : Answer Summary
A US citizen married to a Thai national seeks guidance on officially registering their marriage in Bangkok for the purpose of obtaining a 1-year marriage visa, while currently holding a NON-O visa. The inquiry raises questions about the implications of registering the marriage solely for visa purposes, with community members providing insights on necessary documentation and legal considerations.

If ur getting married for a visa id rewrite your post. You clearly state you are getting married for visa purposes. That is perceived to be a fake marriage. Ppl arent entitled to visas with false marriages.....

keep in mind the Amphor will want all documents translated to Thai.

Your marriage is already registered so no need to go to the US Embassy. I did all my paperwork in Udon Thani, it was fairly easy but they wanted everything translated.

This is from immigration in Chiang Mai. Did your wife register the marriage at amphor to change her family status and get KorRor.22 (คร.22)?

Then your wife should contact a nearest amphor and ask how she can register her marriage. Sometimes different amphor require different documents for updating registration of family status. About your visa, it’s better to ask immigration office that you plan to extend your visa. In our case is Chiang Mai, I went to the office and asked them by myself.

do you need to verify the US marriage certificate with US embassy with your case? If so, I would need to make an appt.
