Hello, I am looking to get a marriage visa. I deposited the money into my Thai account, am waiting for the 2 months that it needs to be in there to come up soon. I am struggling to find the paper work to apply and the location to apply though (in Bangkok.) I was wondering if anyone knew this info. I am currently on a Tourist Visa until November 27th, and would like to change to a Marriage Visa before then.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on applying for a Marriage Visa (Non-O) in Bangkok while currently holding a Tourist Visa set to expire on November 27th. They mention having deposited money into a Thai bank account and are unsure of the necessary paperwork and where to apply. A comment provides guidance, stating that the user can apply at the Chaeng Wattana office and clarifying that the 400,000 Baht deposit only needs to be present on the application date and not for two months prior. The user is urged to gather required documents and apply before November 12.

You are applying for an initial in-country Non-O based on a spouse to a Thai national at the Chaeng Wattana office.

You have to have a 400K Baht deposit as of the application day, but you don't have to wait for two months for the initial visa. Two months of seasoning is required for a 1-year extension, not for an initial visa.

You can apply for an initial visa until 12 Nov as long as you can get the required documents sorted.

You have to go to the CW office to get the latest requirements list ASAP. This is the sample list for an initial visa in Bangkok, but as you can see, it's 2.5 years old.

And don't wait until the last day to apply for your visa.

Wait so foreigners can open bank accounts in Thailand with tourists visa? I thought they need to be on Non-O visa. And does the 400K deposit has to be transferred from oversea or it can be transferred from someone in Thailand?

, depends, and how to get a Thai bank account is not the point here as OP already has his account.

400K baht deposit is not required as international transfer for an in-country visa or 1-year extension based on spouse to a Thai at least in Bangkok.

Thank you! I’m just wondering for my own personal case with my bf. He plans to move here next year :)
