Answer summary
Registering a marriage for a foreigner in Thailand is typically a quick process. You can complete the registration at any local Amphur office, and reports from various users indicate that it can take as little as one hour if all live documents are prepared. While some offices might have longer wait times, like three weeks, using an agent can expedite the process. It's advisable to contact the office in advance to confirm requirements and availability.

I registered end of March this year. We went to a few district offices around Pattaya and called almost all of the Bangkok ones. The quickest one quoted us 3 weeks of wait time. I asked an agent and we got it done the next work day within an hour.
You can take all your documents to any amphar and register your marriage it doesnt have to be your local one but it helps when you need to get up dated kor 2 for immigration,As Graham has already said it takes about an hour or so to fully complete..
Go to the district office and ask to book an appointment. I had to wait about a month to register our marriage. I would think that the queue will vary from office to office.
