In early 2020 Vietnam announced that, wef July, the tourist visa would be limited to 30 days with no extensions thereafter. Then covid struck and the country locked down. With the reopening, is the ‘no extension’ rule enacted, or has it been waived?

TLDR : Answer Summary
In early 2020, Vietnam limited tourist visas to 30 days with no extensions, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the situation is unclear post-reopening. Some comments suggest checking with specific Vietnam travel groups for updated information on extension policies.

I was looking at the 15 day visa exempt for Brits and it said that could be extended.

You will probably get better answers from a vietnam group.
