TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster inquired whether Thailand is still granting 60-day COVID extensions for tourists, having previously extended their stay. Comments suggest that 60-day extensions are still possible but are given on a case-by-case basis, depending on the discretion of the immigration officer. Discussions also include the process of entering Thailand again after a brief exit and the related documentation required for visa extensions.

Double question on this post ~ if I were to leave Thailand for a few weeks and come back , I could still enter with a 30 days , correct ?

I am familiar with visa runs working in similar ways but didn’t know if there is a max amount of times a person can do that

Another question , what documents should I bring ?

Copy of passport

Copy of last stamp

Copy of TM.6

Passport sized photo

I am staying at a hotel in Bangkok , do I need a copy of a filled out TM30? My hotel has no idea what I am talking about 😅

, you are asking "what documents should I bring ?" for what?

@Emily ***********
you'd be better getting a 60 day tourist visa than coming back visa exempt
Ellie *******
@Emily ***********
You can, but you need to meet the requirement to enter Thailand as of the entry date such as a Thailand pass, etc. (The detail of entry requirements is out of this group's scope.)

There's no law prohibiting it but as always, the immigration officer has the discretion, especially if they think you're working here illegally.

please report back after your visa run experience.

...Where are you going?

.. Will you apply for a visa?

...If so, which visa?

...Or will you seek entry visa exempt?

...How long you have been in Thailand?

.. Where did you seek to reenter Thailand?

...Were you questioned by Thai Immigration upon arrival to reenter?

Thank Yoy... Safw travels

You are eligible to apply for Covid extension. If your application is approved or not depends on the officer you will deal with.

Here is general information.

@Ellie ******
considering this is my second time renewing, the option is either 30 or 60 days depending on the officer ?

I’ve always come with a work permit and an unfamiliar with how many times you can extend .

@Emily ***********
, Covid extension is supposed to be 60days. But right, it depends on the officer.

As a standard process, you can only apply for a 30days tourism extension once per entry on a tourist visa or visa-exempt scheme.

60 days still being given out on a case by case basis

you came here as a tourist 😮

Did you buy a real tourist visa from the thai consulate in your country before you winged your way here and when you arrived you were stamped in for 60 days?

OR

Did you come here without any visa in your passport and were stamped in for free for 30 days on the visa exempt entry program when you arrived?

I'm asking because which way you entered controls where you go to get your extensions 🙂 (whether you use the main immigration office at Chaengwattana or the new location at IT Square Laksi Plaza)

hello,, just to confirm , we laksi plaza for extension // immigration . they open at 10 am according to google

@Emily ***********
google is NOT your friend.

They open at 8:30 just like all immigration offices do and take the last queue number at 4PM (close at 4:30)

@Emily ***********
, you paid 1900baht (which is the price of all extensions no matter how long they're issued for) BUT that's neither here nor there 😮

At least now I can tell you that IN BANGKOK you go to the new immigration office at IT Square Laksi Plaza for your covid extension 🙂

I came without a visa .

Entered Thailand and received 30 days .

At the end of the 30 days I received another stamp for 30 days in Surat.

This stamp is “good” until May 4th .

Wondering if I can get the 60 day stamp or if I should head to Vietnam and then re enter for a new 30 days
