Can I obtain a DTV visa in Thailand if my LLC isn't generating income yet?

Hey All, question regarding the DTV visa. My friend and I have a registered LLC for a an online product we've been building for a year where I'm listed as the COO. The product is going live soon, but I'm not making an income from it yet. I have the 500,000 Bhat in my bank. Will they disqualify because I don't have any income from it?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is inquiring about the DTV visa requirements as they have 500,000 THB in savings but no current income from their LLC which is about to launch. Responses indicate that having the required savings is crucial, and no minimum income is generally mandated. Several users shared their experiences with visa approvals, emphasizing the importance of proper documentation like LLC registration and work authorization letters. Some concerns about financial preparedness for living in Thailand were also raised.

Just a question, but do you have any kind of income at all? Savings won't last forever. Of course, that depends on how long you are going to stay and all, but definitely something to think about before moving overseas. Even if you get the visa, how long can you sustain yourself? Something to think about is all.

just out of curiosity, what does your comment have anything to do with the question that I asked?

it doesn't, but it is something to consider. People come here financially unprepared for accidents and emergencies and get stuck or worse. Just wanted to give you something to consider is all.

I appreciate the heads up...I have savings from the last 14 years of working in corporate America...and I'm planning on getting some sort of international health insurance

It doesn’t say you have to be a ‘successful’ digital nomad. 😁

I read on one of the forums that they did respond to one applicant wanting several additional pieces of information including 2023 tax return, it might have been on here if you scroll back or do a search at the top of the page, it was in the last few days that I read it. He was the only person that mentioned it. Another applicant got theirs in a matter of days, prob depends on where you apply.

Would love to hear how it goes with this set-up because it's the exact situation I am in. US LLC but no income from it yet...I wont apply until mid Nov so if you apply in the upcoming weeks and months, let me know how it went :).

I just got approved for the DTV out of Washington DC. For the employemwnt documents, I provided the articles of incorporation for my LLC, a signed letter from my partner indicating I am allowed to work remotely, and my partnership agreement. Hope this helps and good luck!

Should be fine. No minimum income is asked. Just the at least 500k THB in savings + a work contract mentioning you are free to work remotely from Thailand / or a company registered in your name.

Here in the USA , Los Angeles Thai Embassy, they don’t ask for a tax return at all. Just that you have the money in your bank at home.

You need to ask the embassy you'll be applying through.
