Has anyone been approved for the Soft Power DTV with one bank statement showing under the $16k requirement?

Question for anyone who’s applied for the Soft Power DTV through the LA consulate:

I transferred funds into my savings to meet the $16k requirement, but my final $2k deposit didn’t hit until June 2—so my May statement shows $14.8k, while June and July will both show over $16k.

Has anyone been approved even if one of the three required statements showed slightly under the threshold?

Wondering how strict they are about hitting the $16k mark *every* month.

Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is inquiring about the Soft Power DTV application process through the LA consulate, specifically whether it's possible to be approved if one of the three bank statements shows slightly under the required $16k. Responses indicate that the approval may depend on the individual case officer, with several users reporting successful approvals despite similar situations. Some users advised that only one month's proof of funds may be necessary, while others noted possible discrepancies in the stated amount required, referencing a past claim of $17k.

It will depend on the IO who manages your application Lots of people have been approved in this situation

Good luck

The DC embassy only requires 1 month of proof of funds. I just applied last month and got approved there. Just make sure you list the state on your passport for city of birth (not the city like the application asks for)

I used the LA consulate for remote worker.

I only submitted one month of the bank account (it was way more than the requirement) and that was sufficient.

Something to look into: someone posted back in Feb that the LA consulate required 17K despite their website saying 16K.

yeah, only saw one post. Just wanted to highlight it for you though. Update the post once you get the visa. Too many times, we only see negative outcomes and not successes

I saw that $17,000 too... but it's now back to $16,000. Per their website. I think it's the currency fluctuation causing the change.

- back in Feb when the poster said they asked for 17, the website also said only 16. Just highlighting it as a potential issue, but might not be anything
