So I want to apply for a 60 day TV in Penang, Malaysia. I need proof of a departure flight. Does that flight need to be within the 60 days or can it be within 90 days as I plan on applying for a 30 day extension?

Thanks, piggy back on this question. Is there any limit on the times I can enter Malaysia, on a no visa entry. American Passport.

I will be going there for 1 week at the end of September. Can I go back again at say the end of December?

You shouldnt have any issues. It's approximately 1 year of back to back in/out before Malaysian IO start to ask questions. People I know who have had issues getting in were asked to show a onwards flight, if they didnt have this, then they were asked to buy one on the spot and were then allowed in.
