TLDR : Answer Summary
Travelers to Thailand are considering various eSIM options for mobile data. Popular recommendations include Airalo, Saily, and local carriers like AIS and True, with many users attesting to AIS having the best coverage. The conversation highlights eSIM services that can be activated upon arrival, including advantages and potential drawbacks. Several commenters recommend switching to local SIM cards for better reliability. There are also tips for getting a SIM card at the airport versus other retail locations in Thailand.
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

WARNING: Only trust Thai government websites with .go.th domains or Thai agent websites with .co.th or .in.th domains, as these require verified Thai registration and cannot be registered anonymously.

The official TDAC form is available at tdac.immigration.go.th, which uses the official .go.th government domain.

The services by AGENTS CO., LTD. does NOT charge any fees for arrivals within 72 hours. If you need to book more than 72 hours in advance, there is a service fee of $8.

Do not trust other sites pretending to be a trustworthy agency. Pay attention to delivery time - the service operated by AGENTS CO., LTD. has 1 minute delivery time for arrivals within 72 hours.

Don't fall for sites pretending to be agents.co.th or the official government tdac.immigration.go.th website. Always double-check the exact domain in your browser.

Scam services may take days to process your application, others may not even do anything. With these TDAC scam services you also need to worry about double charges.

Please watch out for TDAC misinformation spread by fugitive Jesse Nickles and his many fake accounts on Quora, TripAdvisor, Reddit, and other platforms.

Forget Esims I been on that route with Maya, paid my money for a month and it never worked. Took the phone to true and AIS, neither shop could figure out why it would not work. Got back to the UK, reported it to Maya mobil,e their answer was it doesn't work sometimes. Got my money back. Thank god for AIS and True.

I use Saily, 5GB, cost $7.99 US for 30 days. You can pay and install from your own country, it activates when you enter Thailand. This is my third time using it.

Get a 1 or 2 day one in the airport on arrival which then allows you to contact friends family and taxis etc then goto a 711 and have a new one installed at a much lower rate than you would pay at the airport

If you have Tmobile in the USA … works perfectly fine in thailand if on a short holiday. You can get ESIM AIS and use for all data to speed up streaming and scrolling. Just toggle on esim data and toggle off your USA plan.
Carlos *********
@Todd *******
you can use tmobile in thailand without roaming charges??

I’m from the US. Did the T-Mobile route originally. It’s not worth the money for sure. And no, spent alot of time with support as to why I couldn’t connect to the local networks. Just giving my experience. I’ll take airalo eSIM for $6 a month, no issues and 30x cheaperšŸ‘šŸ¼

Airalo works fine for me. But I use a worldwide plan. $69.00 for 20gb data 365 days. Works in 140+ countries.

Use this code to save us both some money

BILL2550
Martin ********
@William **********
that’s massively expensive! As are airalo and saily and all the other google advertised ones.
William ***********
@Martin *******
it works when I get off the plane immediately. I have a US phone number for 2 factor authentication. If $69 for 365 days of service is massive then so is my pecker.
