Do I need to make a 90-day report if I've requested a 60-day extension on my non-immigrant O visa?

I am on a 90 day non immigrant O visa. It was to expire a few days ago, so a few weeks ago requested a 60 day extension, in order to allow funds to season before applying for 12 month extension.

Being that i touched base with immigration to make the extension, do I need to make the 90 day report from when I initially entered the country?

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry revolves around whether a 90-day report is required after requesting a 60-day extension on a 90-day Non-Immigrant O visa. The consensus among community members indicates that the 60-day extension does not alter the original 90-day reporting obligation. Thus, the 90-day report should still be filed unless specific documentation from immigration indicates otherwise. An individual with ties to a Thai spouse can apply for the 60-day extension based on family visit, but further clarity from immigration may be required regarding reporting duties.

Please excuse my ignorance, but does anyone know how much cash I can bring in from the United States? I would like to be able to deposit the 800,000 when I first arrive

“Touched base” With immigration? What the heck does that mean. Did you get an extension, or didn’t you? Do you have your ฿800,000 in the bank?

Mines due in about 3 weeks so if I have an issue I can just get the 60 days and hopefully have more time to sort out the 1 year extension

also, if your 90 days is over in 3 weeks, I'd suggest you get along to immigration soon. I took the tm7,copy of passport, and entry date stamp page, passport photo, bank statement to prove I still had funds, my child's thai birth certificate ( born abroad), proof of residency (tm30) copy of TDAC, copy of visa, copy of house book (tabian baan), also needed my wife there for some reason for her to provide her ID card, also needed I think it's the KOR 2 from amphur to verify that we were in fact still married.

If you.know what you need, and have all the supporting documents, it was a very easy process that took us a little over 30 minutes.

Ok I hope it works out but was hoping one of the experts could answer .I don’t think you can get a 1 year after the 60 ?

yes you can do. It's often used if the person needs time to season funds for the 12 months extension, but you can only get that 60 day extension once

my issue was the seasoning of funds. I initially used an agent to get the non O, as I was already in country, and had no proof of funds. So they sorted me and got the bank account open.

Not enough time for funds to season though.

They advised I.leave the country again, and reapply for another 90 day non O. After some research, I thought I'd give an extension a crack based on family circumstances, and was approved the 60 days.

Getting my ducks in a row now to apply for the 12 month.

Unfortunately, sometimes I think it just comes down to how nice the person you are dealing with on the day is.

The non-O does not grant a stay greater than 90 days so is not subject to 90 day reporting.

The 60 day extension does not grant a stay greater than 90 days so is not subject to 90 day reporting.

The first time you'll be on a stay greater than 90 days is when you get your 1 year extension. At that time the immigration officer will put a paper in your passport that will tell you when your first 90 day report is due.

I already have the 60 day extension of my 90 day non O Thai wife visa. Approved a few weeks ago. Reasoning was funds needing to season, plus I am here supporting my 7yo son as well. We moved here 6 months ago.

Question was about reporting, since I acquired an extension. Sounds like I should do as they say though, and check with the source.

your 90-days reporting is due exactly 90 days after you entered. In case you were shorter than 15 days away from the due date, when you applied for the "60-days extension based on family visit", Immigration might have ticked your 90-days report duty done and dusted on this day. However then they would have stapled a 90-days report receipt into your passport. If there is no such receipt, your original 90-days report due date must still be observed

I am in a regional area, with very friendly immigration officers though, I'm sure that helped, as I understand 60 extensions on a non O are rare.

They are not rare. Anyone married to a Thai wife can get a "60-days extension based on family visit" on top of the 90-days stay permit out of a Non-Imm-O Family Visa. However only ONCE per entry

Is it even possible to get a 30-day extension on a 90-day non O? Or could leave Thailand for a couple of days and get stamped for 60 days when returning? Just one time. 🤷

Dane France the problem could arise with Thai/Farang marriages which are not yet registered inside Thailand because they married abroad. Immigration wants to see a freshly printed on the Amphur Kor Ror 22 or 2 (whichever applies) They won't be able to prove their marriage without the registry printout, so they would not get the 60-days extension issued

60 is not 30. 30 day extensions are for tourism entries
