TLDR : Answer Summary
The question revolves around whether a Thai national, who traveled on a British passport, needs to extend her 60-day stay in Thailand. Responses indicate that she will face the same rules as any British passport holder for her entry. It's noted that she could have entered with her Thai passport to avoid complications. Suggestions include applying for a one-year extension due to her Thai citizenship, or alternatively, a 30-day extension. If she chooses not to extend, there could be fines for overstaying, though there may be some leniency due to her Thai nationality.

As stated she can go to immigration and get a 1yr extension with her proof of citizenship 1900b

Or pay 1900b and get a 30 day.

Or do nothing and see if the airport will fine her on leaving, as she is Thai.

I never had to show my passport number when I booked my flights. And even IF she would have to show her passport number, it is easy peasy: She would book the flight on her British passport, exit UK on the British passport, enter Thailand on her Thai passport, check in to the return flight with both passports or her British passport, exits Thailand on her Thai passport, and enters UK on her British passport

Simple Rule to Remember

Thailand in & out → Thai passport

Other countries → passport with best rights

Your partner should ALWAYS enter Thailand on her Thai passport.

She should probably always enter and exit the UK on her UK passport.

I understand what you are saying .. so explain to me cos I don’t know … when u book a flight and you board the plane you have booked the flight with your passport number… so when u get to Bangkok you go to immigration with a different passport ( same name obviously) won’t it flag up somewhere as the passport numbers are different?

passports are in 2 different names as she can't change her thai passport due to her husband passing away as she needs his permission

it’s very common for Thais to have dual citizenship.

In fact, I think it might be the law Thais have to enter on a Thai passport.

If it’s ever an issue, just show both passports to the customs officials. They’re completely used to this.

I was just asking the question… that surely if u book a flight with one passport number and then try to enter your destination with a different passport number then won’t it flag up …

Thai immigration will often see both passports in their computer if you provide either one.

😂😂😂 I fly Qatar, Condor and Thai since 26 years and I have NEVER needed to give them my passport number. Maybe they enter this number at the check-in counter, but I NEVER had to supply it when booking the ticket online. Maybe it is a specialty only reserved for the British 😎

Just a question here Why does everyone ask questions about things that you get of Thailand embassy web site ? Because 80% of answers here are not true ( bullshit) just research then answers are there

If she entered on the British passport then exactly the same rules apply to her as any other British passport holder

Why did your partner not enter on their Thai passport? The passport they travel with and the passport they use to enter Thailand are not related.

They can apply for a 1-year extension based on being a Thai citizen.

If they do not get an extension, they will be stopped at the airport and possibly fined for overstay, but they might also not be fined.
