A friend arrives on a SETV and immediately goes to his rented home in Nakhon Ratchisima. Should he inform Immigration asap that he has arrived. Can I confirm that he will need a pre paid outbound flight (within 60 days) and proof of funds on arrival. How much would that amount be? Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Upon arrival in Thailand on a Short-term Electronic Visa (SETV), your friend should inform Immigration of his presence. It is also necessary for him to present proof of funds, which can be around 20,000 THB or equivalent in another currency. Additionally, he will need to have a prepaid outbound flight within 60 days of arrival. His landlord is required to report his arrival to Immigration within 24 hours, utilizing the TM 30 form, which entails providing a signed copy of his passport ID page, the landlord's ID (front and back), and the housebook.

Immigration can ask proof of funds of 20.000 Thb or equivalent currency in cash, accommodation and onward travel. Small change if this is his first entry, bigger chance if he has a history of coming to Thailand using Tourist Visa and Visa Exempt entries. His landlord should report him within 24 hours of arrival at Immigration using the TM 30 form, signed copy of ID pasport page, copy ID front and back and housebook, both signed by owner.

Yes he can do.

Can he report himself with the relevant docs if the landlord is unavailable?
