TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquires about the requirement to show 20,000 THB upon entering Thailand with a Single Entry Tourist Visa (SETV). The responses highlight that whether proof of funds or onward travel is asked for largely depends on the immigration officer and the traveler's prior entry history. Preparedness is advised, as the officer can ask for various documents, including proof of accommodation and onward travel. Additionally, it's clarified that a SETV is valid for only 60 days, and any extensions must be applied for at local immigration offices.

, you're asking a question no one on this group can answer :O

Whether you'll be pulled aside and asked for proof of funds, onward travel etc is totally up to your previous entry history (like if you're living here on back-2-back visa exempt or tourist visa entries) AND to a great extent the mood of the officer you get at passport control

There is no down side to being prepared just in case you're asked.

Good Luck

And by the time they have asked all those questions, they have pretty much made their mind up on what they are seeing on their screen, that your not coming in anyway.

Its kind of playing Russian roulette living here on tourist visas

The third thing that could be asked is proof of lodging. And I also think, in principle, they can ask to see proof of onward travel within 60 days.

With an Single Entry Tourist Visa you only get 60 days of sty if you like to stay longer you have to apply for an Extension of Stay at Immigration. The decision to ask you questions on entry is made by the Immigration Officer and we can not tell you if he will ask or not.

I don't know what others know, so I just made it clear. to avoid problems in the future. You will be not the first one or the last one that thinks the SETV is valid for 90 days, so you can stay 90 days without application for an Extension of Stay.
