TLDR : Answer Summary
A TM30 filing is technically required when a foreign national stays at a different residence in Thailand, but many users suggest that it may not be strictly enforced and that it might not be necessary for a short visit like three days, especially if the guest is not going to the immigration office for any purpose.

Technically yes, BUT if they are not going to go to the immigration office for anything while they are there, and you 'forget' to do it, no one will know or care..
