TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you can still receive a 30-day visa-exempt entry upon arrival in Thailand if your country is on the approved list. This entry can be extended once for an additional 30 days. After this period, you can leave Thailand and re-enter to obtain another 30-day visa exemption, provided your nationality qualifies.

Yes, if your country of citizenship is short-listed for visa exemption. It was extended to 45 days to take care of quarantine but is now back to 30 days.

And at the end of that 60 day period, if you leave Thailand for another country, can you re-enter Thailand and get another visa exempt for 30 days?
you can leave Thailand and re-enter although land borders are closed so you’d have to find a country that would accept you and fly there.
In theory there is no limit on how many times you could do this, but at some point the immigration officer will question your motives and may well bar you from entry.

If your country is on the list you can still get a visa exempt entry that will give you 30 days on arrival. You can extend that once for a further 30 days.
I'm coming from UK next week so qualify for exempt but been advised today on fb that you can't do this at the airport anymore. Do you know if this is correct?
no, sorry. I was going to come on visa exempt next week and sort paperwork and fee out at airport but someone else has posted that you cannot do this now and need to get visa before you arrive!
if you’re from the UK you do not need a visa to enter Thailand as long as you’re staying less than 30 days (actually 60 because you can get an extension in country). You do need to go through the ThailandPass system to gain entry which means you need things like confirmed flights, accommodation and insurance.
