TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for a Thai tourist visa, you can use services like VFS Global in Chennai, India. It's important to note that a single-entry tourist visa is valid for 90 days from the date of issuance, allowing you to enter Thailand within that period. Upon entry, you will receive a stamp for 60 days. If you are an Indian passport holder, extensions are limited to a 7-day extension for a fee at immigration, instead of a 30-day extension.

Alternatively you can apply for Multi Entry Tourist Visa, if you meet the requirements. This visa will be valid to use for 6 months. and gives you Permitted to stay for a period not exceeding 60 Days in each entry. The requirements are listed on a pdf. form downloadable from the link

NO, IF you have a tourist visa before you come here you will get stamped in for 60 days, BUT indian passport holders cannot get a 30 day extension on their single entry tourist visa, only a 7 day one.

FWIW: there is no such thing as a 30 or 90 day tourist visa. :O

Single entry tourist visas to thailand are VALID for 90 days from the date they're issued <- meaning you have 90 days to ENTER thailand when you will be stamped in for 60 days.
