Hi guys,

I arrived in Thailand during this covid situation. I have a TR visa (Tourist visa) 60 days, and I can extend for more 30 days.

I want to stay here longer than that. Is the covid extension still be applying?

I might extend this 30 days and then I was thinking to apply for the covid extension. Is it possible!?

cheers!!!!!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original post queries whether a tourist visa can be extended using the covid extension, and participants clarify that extensions are available until January 29th. Users mention varying policies at immigration offices regarding the sequence of extensions, and the possibility of obtaining additional 60 days under certain conditions. Overall, it seems feasible to extend a tourist visa and possibly apply for a covid extension, though local office policies may vary.

just so you're clear. The order that allows people to apply for 60 day "covid" extensions expires on Jan 29th <- that means right now that's the last day you can apply for that extension.

Also SOME immigration offices are telling people who recently entered on 60 day tourist visa stamps that they HAVE to get the 'regular' 30 day extension first and then if covid extensions are still available when that runs out they can apply for one.

BUT

Other immigration offices are just giving the 60 day covid extension automatically without people on 60 day tourist visa stamps even asking.

Check with your immigration office to see how they handle new arrival extensions.

I got 60 days extension. Just go to immigration and talk to the volunteers. They will give all the forms that you need to fill out... mostly you have to write your name, date and sign. The other document that you need is the TM30 if you are staying in a friends house, otherwise, you just need the address from your hotel (not sure)....

Bring your passport (copy of the pages, there is a copy place just behind immigration) and 1 photo

.

Once you have everything, they will ask to go inside and wait until your number is called.

Hi thanks for your help

I was at immigration office today and I got the extension but I have one question:

Did you get your extension from the day you applied or from your visa expiry date?
