Do I Need to Use Specific Dates on the TM8 Form for a Re-Entry Permit on an ED Visa?

Currently stamped in on an ED visa until mid April 2020. I will have to leave Thailand shortly for a family matter, but not sure yet on what day I leave and what day I will return. I need a re-entry permit.

I'm aware I can do it at the airport just before leaving but I rather do it beforehand.

I saw the TM8 form online and it requires me to fill out leaving date and return date. Does it matter at all what I put there, or can I come and leave at other dates than indicated.

Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The dates required on the TM8 form for a re-entry permit are not strictly enforced, allowing for flexibility in travel. Users suggest leaving the date fields blank or putting random estimates, as immigration is unlikely to scrutinize them. However, be prepared for potential questions from immigration upon re-entry due to your extended stay in Thailand.

Just estimate the dates, it's not crucial.

Be aware you could be asked by Thai Immigration on your return as you do have a history of being in Thailand longtime using various visas ...METV, Ed and extensions.

Hope all goes well with family visit. Good Luck.

I doubt they’d ever look at those fields. Leave them blank or put in random dates. No ones going to hold you to them.

That doesn't surprise me, at least they have another document to add to their stack. Thanks ;)
